South Australian Department for Education – HCD uplift

I’ve been working with the Business Improvements team at the South Australian Department for Education, initially brought in to introduce human-centred design (HCD) practices. Since then, I’ve continued to support the team in building HCD capability and embedding the mindset more broadly across their work.

The work has included:

• Delivering annual ‘Introduction to HCD’ training for new team members
• Assisting teams with planning HCD projects and customer research
• Providing ongoing coaching and mentoring to individuals and teams engaged in hands-on HCD work
• Offering targeted, hands-on support at critical project moments — from journey mapping to workshop facilitation

This ongoing collaboration has helped the team develop greater confidence and fluency in applying HCD to a diverse range of challenges.
